IFHP (Refugee Plan)

interim federal health program at our dental clinic

The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) provides dental coverage for eligible refugees, including government-sponsored and privately sponsored refugees, refugee claimants, protected persons in Canada, and certain other groups who are not eligible for provincial or territorial health insurance.

Coverage is available for a limited time and is generally restricted to the emergency relief of dental pain, infection, and other urgent oral health needs. Some dental procedures and treatments may require prior authorization, and certain services are not covered under the IFHP program.

Please note that services such as root canal therapy, routine prophylaxis (cleanings), orthodontic treatment, and procedures that are considered initial steps toward these treatments are typically not covered under IFHP dental benefits.
